Where originality is required, especially in historically important examples of the marque, the original capacity and specification of the motor can and should be retained, albeit improving performance and smoothness by careful assembly and balancing. In virtually all other cases, however, it is wise to consider upgrading to a larger capacity and overall specification. Please discuss all your preferred options with JE first. Being misled by other "engine specialists", whose only experience of Classic Range Rovers was when they were once overtaken by one, will only result in disappointment!
