Defender Exterior / Styling Enhancements
For the Defender?? You have to be joking!

We, of course, carry out rally, raid and expedition preparation and special vehicles (we have even done one for the Hong Kong Airport Fire Brigade) but they hardly come under the heading "Styling Enhancements" !
Give us a ring for anything Defender. Better still come for a test run in our 230bhp Auto "90" which is singularly devoid of any "exterior styling enhancements"!
The immortal Defender is the best 4x4xfar when doing what it was originally designed to do, but when modified by most as a plaything for footballers' wives and the like it becomes the worst of all compromises. However, JE Engineering are not “most” but unique. Our demonstrator Defender, “J90EEE” is simply fun on wheels and demonstrates just some of the JE ethos of fine British craftsmanship and innovation. We would say that wouldn’t we?! Well, don’t take our word for it: forget work for a day and come for a test drive and enjoy yourself. The following is a brief description of “EEE”. Highlighted text describes some of the additional modifications not yet fitted to our demonstrator.
Origin 1999 Defender 90 Td5 5 cylinder turbo diesel
Engine 5 cylinder 2.5 litre turbo diesel Stage2Plus.
Performance is totally transformed with a remapped tune chip plus a larger intercooler and itg filter delivering some 230bhp and 420 Nm torque. With a 6 second reduction in 0-60mph time, this remarkable conversion yields performance that beats the standard V8 petrol models and endows “EEE” with an exciting sporting character. Also available with Stage1 and 2 diesel and 4.6, 4.8 or 5.0 litre Petrol, LPG or dual fuel.
Transmission Electronic 4 speed automatic (not available from Land Rover) with full manual over-ride (gears can be held on acceleration and deceleration) Higher ratio transfer gear set.
Push button steering wheel controls for instant manual control.Normal manual gearbox optional, with or without h/r gear set.
Suspension Lowered ride height; softer springs; stiffer anti-roll bars;
gas adjustable uprated dampers. All carefully designed to give a vastly improved ride, handling and grip whilst reducing roll. It has to be driven to be believed!
Brakes Uprated with “Green Stuff” pads. By no means top of the JE Range but superb stopping power to safely haul the 2.4 tonne(GVW) Defender to rest. Our big multi-pot brakes are really designed to cope with a 3 tonne JE Range Rover under full sail.
Electronic centre console mounted handbrake switch.
Wheels 18-inch multi-spoke custom alloy 3-piece wheels, normally fitted with Yokohama 60 profile V-Rated road tyres. A wide range of wheels and tyres is available to choice,but, remember, all reputable tyres are designed to do a specific job. Fitting unsuitable tyres on a Defender because they looked pretty may result in your exploring its off-road capability sooner than you expected!
Exhaust JE free-flow stainless steel with hallmark twin tailpipes, simply the best. Note the neat, chequer-plate trimmed mud flap cut out, a typical JE touch.
Interior Trim Full leather trim including electrically operated Discovery seats, complimented with cloth headlining incorporating sound-deadening material. A virtually limitless range of bespoke and out-sourced modifications are available.
Exterior Flush, grille-mounted halogen driving lamps. Clear flasher lenses. JE rear step and tow bar assembly. Vehicle re- finished in Lancia Portofino Blue and topped out with huge and funky “Dali-esque” Union Flag decals.
