Diesel Performance

JE Diesel performance tunes deliver power and acceleration gains as you would expect, but we also concentrate on response & flexibility for more relaxed motoring. The real benefits come at higher speed where, with certain models, the standard car needs most of its available power just to maintain speed, leaving little surplus for acceleration. At higher speeds, the surplus power available with JE Diesel tunes can be more than doubled. JE also pay particular attention to smoke and particulate emissions. Yes, quite substantial power increases can be easily obtained by simply pumping in extra fuel and tricking the ECU. This is the method adopted by lesser tuners and, particularly, the add-on module brigade. Such “modified” vehicles can usually be recognised by the vast clouds of noxious black smoke belching out of the exhaust. Such “improvements” are hardly likely to endear you to your fellow planet-dwellers, notably MoT testers! JE and the few other top diesel tuners (yes, there are some!) rewrite the entire map to give power with efficiency and no more smoke than any OE diesel, even under hard acceleration.

JE diesel tunes are as good as any, better than most, and usually cheaper than all! Needless to say, any JE fitted tunes that become wiped during routine servicing will be reinstated f.o.c.

JE performance tunes are written and developed in-house by JE Engineering and JE Deutschland using the very latest and best software. They are extensively tested on JE owned vehicles in the UK and Germany. They are not copies!

TDV8 Performance Tune Stage 1
A supremely developed tune gives awesome performance. Power upgraded to 315 bhp and torque increased to a staggering 800Nm. Speed limiter raised to 140mph for use where local laws permit.

Stage1 A remapped chip gives a performance upgrade to 235bhp and torque to 575Nm. 20% more power and 31% more torque.

Stage 1. A 'remapped' tune chip lifts performance by 39% to 170 bhp and 375 Nm (277 lbf.ft) torque.

With around 3 sec. reduction in 0-60mph time & reduced turbo lag, this well rounded tune provides effortless cruising & easier overtaking.

Stage 2. 180 bhp (134kW) and 332 lbf.ft (450Nm) Not only more scintillating performance from a "JE Equipped" Defender but also an ideal tune for effortless towing with reduced engine temperatures compared with the standard vehicle. Comprises re-mapped chip, larger gas-flowed intercooler and special itg airfilter. Speed limiter re-set to 96 mph (153 kph) at extra cost.

Speed-limitation - Please note. JE limit vehicle speed to a maximum of 96 mph (153 kph) This is the result of the standard OE tyres normally fitted to these vehicles being General 'Grabber' TR which are 'Q' speed rated to 99 mph. JE will re-set the limiter to a higher speed on competition vehicles or those fitted with higher speed-rated tyres. Advisable if you want to hurl your JE-modified Defender round the Nurburgring, like this customer!!

2.5 DSE Performance Tune
Delivers a 20% increase in performance, & improved low to mid range performance availability. Reduces 0 - 60 mph time by around 3 seconds.

300 TDi Performance Options
Stage 1. You don't have to put up with the sluggish performance of the standard 300 TDi any more. JE 's much acclaimed mechanical fuel pump recalibration conversion for the 300 TDi provides 20% more performance in its revised form, providing 122 bhp & 320 Nm (235 Lb.ft) Torque, reducing 0 - 60 mph time by 3 seconds.

Stage 2. Comprising a mechanical fuel pump recalibration together with a gas flowed air inlet & intercooling system. Another 7% more performance is released, giving 132 bhp & 340 Nm (250 Lb.ft) Torque, taking another second off the 0 - 60 mph time.
