Example Prices and Power/Torque outputs With the immense number of options available, even just for road use, it is impossible to give exact figures for all possible combinations of parts. The following gives a brief specification and expected power and torque. Fast Road 4.6: This specification should give 245 bhp installed, with a flat torque curve peaking at 290 lbf.ft ( 393 Nm) between 3,000 and 3,500 rpm. Fast Road 5.0:
5.0 litre short engine £5,890.00 This specification should give 280 bhp installed, with a strong, very flat torque curve peaking at 328 lbf.ft (445 Nm) between 3,000 and 3,500 rpm. Track day / Sprint 4.8: 4.8 litre (94.0 mm bore) short engine £4790.00 This specification should give 285 bhp installed, with a strong torque curve peaking at 312 lbf.ft (423 Nm) between 3,300 and 3,700 rpm. 4.5 litre JE 'Clubman' Engine
When replacing a fuel injection 3.5, 3.9, or 4.2 litre engine, JE strongly recommend Stroker kits for Rover V8 There are 5 kits of parts available to allow a customer to increase the capacity of his engine by increasing the stroke alone. In contrast to other kits on the market, our rods are lighter and less bulky at the big end, so the overall package is nearly 2 kg lighter and does not require any metal removal in the crank-case to fit the parts. 4.8 litre kits Specially made connecting rod, unique to JE Engineering. It is significantly longer than the old standard 'classic' rod and therefore makes the piston shorter, reducing weight, while also reducing rod angularity as the crank rotates, reducing piston side loads, and making for a smoother running engine. The rods are forged from 4340 steel, stress relieved, shot peened, and crack tested. The crank is tuftrided and polished, stroke is 86.3 mm. Pistons for 94.0 mm bore are standard Land Rover high compression pistons, the largest grade are selected, to minimise clearances if the bore requires honing. Maximum allowed skirt clearance is 0.085 mm (3 to 3½ 'thou'). Valve cut-outs can be machined into the piston crown if anything other than the standard cam and valves are to be used. Standard bearings are included. Swept volumes: For later style, large main bearing blocks (4.0 & 4.6) £2,750.00 4.5 litre kit for early style, small main bearing blocks (3.9 & 4.2) A balanced set of crank, rods, and pistons. The tuftrided and polished crankwith a stroke of 80.0 mm. The rods are the standard Land Rover type fully inspected and prepared. Pistons are modified standard Land Rover items, selected and prepared. Standard bearings included. Swept volume : 80.0 x 94.0 : 4,441 cc £1,750.00 Winning Stage5 TransOrientale 2008 in Khazakstan forests en route to Beijing
