We are justifiably proud of our expertise. As a result we regularly make our products available to the media for unbiased appraisal. The JE Lifestyle Experience is uniquely diverse. It ranges from the mud-plugging off-roader, through pastimes such as eventing and towing the family horsebox to the luxurious bespoke supercar. The following are representative examples of media reaction to JE products:

“ JE Engineering’s Range Rover Sport shows what the company can do with the supercharged 4.2 litre engine.  It also does a very good job of making the standard version look ordinary”…...”JE’s conversion adds more to the range-topping Sport than you’d imagine possible. The company’s still working on more extreme versions of the same engine, and when they come along no doubt they’ll be more entertaining still. But however fast they get the vehicle to go, they’ve already set the bar very high indeed by getting it spot-on first time.”  Planet 4x4 - April 2007- Super CHARGER

"Starting up produces one of those exhaust notes that will make heads turn anywhere, and even inside the car you’re well aware that something is very much not standard. As it comes from the factory, the supercharged Sport sounds tame by comparison.......  look for an overtaking opportunity and then floor it and listen to that altogether more glorious noise as the Sport picks up its skirts and flies."

"If you’re driving a Range Rover Sport that’s been modified
by JE, keep your eyes peeled for speed cameras. It’s desperately easy to forget yourself...
"   Land Rover Enthusiast - March 2007 - Superpower by JE

'If a standard supercharged Range Rover Sport isn't quick enough for you, why not hand it to JE Engineering and get them to turn it into the world's quickest?
You see, this Range Rover Sport is fast. Very fast. Not so much in the top-speed definition, as it’s ‘limited’ to 140mph. No sir. This projectile is all about acceleration of a kind rarely, if ever, delivered by a Land Rover. JE will turn an already quick motor into something akin to being thwacked off the end of an aircraft carrier in an F14 — every time you floor the pedal.' Land Rover Owner - February 2007 - Speed Date

' There’s really nothing to beat a 90 as any true fan knows. And with the JE 90, the driving experience just gets better.
The vehicle growls and grumbles its way along, the twin tailpipe stainless steel system exhaust note heading into V8 territory— lovely. The reaction between engine and auto box is sometimes a bit sudden with the remapped Td5 engine making all of its 420Nm of torque very apparent. Leaving other traffic floundering at the traffics lights is a joy, of course.
Handling is impressive, especially if you’re used to a 90 with extended suspension. The JE 90 features a lowered ride height, softer springs, stiffer anti-roll bars and gas adjustable uprated dampers. It’s a combination that gives the vehicle impressive handling, taut steering through the sports steering wheel and a smooth ride. Plenty of grip, very little roll.
The Discovery seats are disconcertingly comfortable and the whiff of leather every time you open the door is quite intoxicating. The sound system is set up to impress along with the fancy facia and the quantity of purposeful looking dials. I like the colour scheme, but could live without the flags — the 18-inch alloys are gorgeous. All together the JE 90 as tested is an expensive piece of kit, but for those with a suitably deep pocket and a
passion for Land Rover’s icon, vehicles don’t get much  better than this.' Land Rover Monthly.  February 2007 – JE’s Super 90 is a Blast

'It's not the wheels that give away the JE Engineering-tuned Range Rover Sport’s new-found performance, but the engine note. Even at idle, the stainless steel exhaust is thunderstorm loud
Based on the supercharged 4.2-litre machine, this Stage 1 tuning package offers an amazing 434bhp and 622Nm of torque. That means 0-60mph somewhere in the region of six seconds, while the top speed remains limited to 140mph. What’s more, the conversion looks impressive value for money, coming in at £4,559 fully fitted.
Despite the new wheels, the suspension remains standard, as does the interior. Even so, drivers should not underestimate the dramatic effect the performance upgrade has on the car’s character. The big 4x4’s in-gear acceleration is much, much stronger.'

Auto Express Nov 2006- Loud and Proud -JE Range Rover Sport

'Having tested all the upgraded defenders on the Rockingham Speedway, in terms of outright fun, JE Engineering's 90 is the best. It's loud, fast and raw, stable at speed and it feels safe. The quality of engineering is in no doubt, and the end result is a very effective package. If you're worried about your TD5's durability, JE has received no reported failures in the five years it's been upgrading these engines. The company also does random quality sampling on the engine, so it knows a thing or two about how TD5's are built'
Land Rover Owner Oct 2003 - Power to the people

'We tested the company's demonstrator. It fires up like normal, doesn't have a lumpy tick over and trundles out of the car park with perfect serenity. Yet open it up and immediately obvious are the levels of low-down pulling power to worry the V8, yet alone the standard TD6. Full bore standing starts really do jolt your head back, and mid-range acceleration means overtaking won't turn your hair white. On paper the benefits are clear. An extra 40bhp takes power output to 214bhp at 3500rpm - 500rpm lower than standard - while a 25% increase in torque boosts pulling power to 360lb ft - no wonder performance is so effortless. VERDICT Petrol V8 performance, diesel economy and refined with it, a seriously good way to improve your Range Rover.'
What MPV and 4 X 4 Sept 2003 - Having your cake and eating it - New TD6

'TD6 too slow for you? Or is your TD5 a bit asthmatic? If so JE Engineering has the solution and if you don't believe us drive the company demonstrator. We did. If your worried about the long-term effects of such an upgrade, don't be. JE has already done that for you with German Autobahn development.'
Land Rover World Sept 2003 - Power Rangey

'JE's Supercharged 4.6S represents the ultimate in performance off-roaders. The JE party-piece involves a dash-mounted boost button, flick it to green at any time and acceleration zaps from brisk to brutal.'
Roger Bell- Performance Car - Feb. 98

'JE takes already luxurious 4.6HSE Range Rovers, and turns them into stunningly fast and exclusive machines.'
Coventry Evening Telegraph - Nov. 97

'Push the green button on the dashboard and this car becomes one of the most amazing two ton toys you could imagine. In something the size of a Range Rover, such instant response is extraordinary.'
Auto Express - Winter special 97

'The whole JE Range Rover package clearly enhances roll control, but that's no big surprise when you find out who tweaked the suspension, Technical Director Spen King CBE designer of the first Range Rover in 1969.'
Auto Express - Winter special 97

'Basically, it's bloody quick and the handling isn't too shabby either, especially at high speeds.'
Hans Cowherd - Max Power - July 97

'JE's supercharged Range Rover became a legend even before the first one was up and running.'
Alan Kidd - Land Rover World - June 97

'Getting the GEMS (engine management system) to play ball was essential if the engine was ever to run, you have to take your hat off to JE just for having the bottle to try. The JE engine responds as if it's just sat on an electric fence and you're punched back in to your seat, both hands gripping the wheel as the vehicle takes off like the Starship Enterprise.'
Bob Cooke - Off Road & 4 Wheel Drive - June 97

'I really wanted to push the green button but I managed to convince myself that I had to see how the Range Rover 4.6HSE performed first........The difference is truly amazing with the button off and the throttle wide open the engine can be heard hard at work, when you press the button it stops working and starts playing.'
Bob Cooke - Off Road & 4 Wheel Drive - June 97

'The sensational supercharged 'S'car developed by JE is a thoroughly well-engineered package which takes the Range Rover concept further than anything yet developed by Lode Lane.'
Carl Rodgerson Editor - Land Rover Owner - June 97

'House on wheels versus slippery curves: The Porsche 911 Turbo and JE Range Rovers, but the manner in which these two 4x4s can deliver their spine-tingling performance is worth comparing.'
Tony White - Telegraph - March 97

'When is happiness a square green button? When you're driving JE's Range Rover's.'
Roger Bell - Performance Car - March 97

'A spirited hack round Millbrook's handling circuit that was by now well and truly drenched left us full of praise for the car - The Dakar was just 1/10 of a second slower than its dry-test rivals. (Tested against Overfinch 570Ci and Oselli Conqueror.)'
Paul Jeffries - Performance & Style International - Dec 94

'If you rate Range Rovers, whatever your taste, then JE can provide a better one. A rapid two ton 4wd truck which goes better and stops & handles as well as any currently quick GTi, has to be a development triumph.'
Martin Short - Car & Car Conversions - Jan 89
